Description

Your helmet saves your head. But what is it doing to your hair?

Every time you pull a helmet on and off, it drags across your hair. On the road, it presses down, traps heat and holds sweat against your scalp for hours. Ride every day and your hair goes through this 300+ times a year. Dry, rough strands snag and break. Hair around the crown and forehead feels thinner. Your scalp itches by the time you get to work.

Ordinary hair oils were never made for this. Heavy oils turn sticky in the heat, stain the helmet lining and leave you with flat, greasy hair.

Mitra Coolmint Scalp Oil was made for one job: protecting your hair under a helmet.

It starts with virgin coconut oil pressed from fresh coconuts in our own unit in Coimbatore, the same day they are opened. Coconut oil is known to soak into the hair strand and help reduce protein loss, so hair stays softer and slides under the helmet instead of snagging.

Into this base we prepare six herbs the Ayurvedic way: Bael leaf, Curry leaf, Fenugreek, Banyan leaf, Spearmint and Camphor. They help nourish the roots, keep the scalp fresh and give a gentle cooling feel that lasts through your ride.

Why do I need a special oil for helmet use?

A helmet rubs your hair every time you put it on or take it off, and traps heat and sweat while you ride. This oil is light enough to wear under a helmet and helps protect your hair from that daily friction.

When should I apply it?

Before you ride. Massage a few drops into your scalp and hair, then put on your helmet.

How much should I use?

A few drops are enough for short hair. Use a little more for long hair. Too much oil will feel heavy under a helmet.

Will it make my hair look oily?

No. It's made to absorb quickly and stay light, so your hair stays in place.

Will it stain or dirty my helmet?

It's non-greasy, so the inside of your helmet doesn't get messy. For best results, let it absorb for a minute before putting your helmet on.

Does it help with hair fall?

It helps nourish your hair and reduce the dryness and friction that can lead to breakage under a helmet. It is not a medicine for hair loss. If you have heavy hair fall, please see a doctor.

How cooling is it?

Gently cooling. You'll feel fresh on a hot ride, without the sharp burning feel of strong menthol oils. That makes it comfortable for daily use.

How long does the cool feeling last?

The fresh mint feel is strongest when you apply it and slowly fades during your ride. That's normal for natural spearmint and camphor.

Does it wash out easily?

Yes. Regular shampoo removes it.

Can women use it?

Yes. It's made for anyone who wears a helmet. Riders with long hair should oil the lengths as well as the scalp.

Can I use it every day?

Yes. It's made for daily riders.

Can children use it?

It contains camphor, so we recommend it for adults. For children, check with a doctor first.

Why does it turn solid in winter?

The base is pure virgin coconut oil, which naturally thickens below about 24°C. Keep the bottle in warm water for a few minutes and it will turn liquid again.

How long does it last?

24 months from the manufacturing date. Both dates are printed on every pack.

Any precautions?

For external use only. Keep away from eyes. If you have a sensitive scalp, do a patch test first. Stop use if you feel irritation.
